Badr Al Samaa Group of Hospitals and Polyclinics organized Continuous Medical Education (CME) on “Fundamentals of Laparoscopic Surgeries” and “Periomedicine, Advances in Dentistry and Conscious Sedation “recently at the newly inaugurated Auditorium in Badr Al Samaa Hospital, Barka.
In his addressing speech, Dr. V T Vinod, Managing Director expressed his happiness over the launch of an advanced 80 bedded multispeciality Hospital, Badr Al Samaa, Barka. He indicated that Badr Al Samaa has organized hundreds of CME’s before as-well, but this one is special since it is the first CME after Barka Polyclinic has transformed into 80 bedded advanced Hospital. He expressed his gratitude to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said, the great visionary and determined ruler whose policies transformed healthcare system in Oman and helped us contributing significantly in private sector.
The main speakers of the CME were Dr. Bhargavram B N, General Surgeon and Dr. Deepak, Implant & Laser Dentist, Specialists in Periodontology and Implantology. The presentations were made by Dr. Bhargavram and Dr. Deepak who shed light on Fundamentals of Laparoscopic Surgeries and Periomedicine, Advances in Dentistry and Conscious Sedation and the sessions were indeed very informative to the medical fraternity. The event was chaired by Dr. Ilan Chezhian, Medical Director and Orthoapedic Surgeon at Badr Al Samaa Hospital, Barka. More than 100 doctors from Al Bāţinah and Muscat region participated in the event and it was accredited by Oman Medical Specialty Board (OMSB).
In his presentation on “Fundamentals of Laparoscopic Surgeries”, Dr. Bhargavram B N, General Surgeon had discussed every aspect of laparoscopic surgeries including techniques, instruments, advances, etc. He mentioned as compared to open surgery after laparoscopic surgery post operative stay is very less and there are very rare chances of getting infection, most importantly it is cosmetically very aesthetic due to small incisions and one can return to work and normal course fast. He also said post-operative complications are significantly reduced using this surgical and diagnostic technique. Dr. Bhargaram said that at Badr Al Samaa Hospital, Barka we have 3 state-of-the art modular OT’s with Hepa filters, advanced ICU’s, Post Surgical ICU facilities which makes Badr Al Samaa Hospital’s surgical facilities the most advanced one in private sector in Al Bāţinah region. Dr. Deepak, Implant & Laser Dentist, Specialists in Periodontology & Implantology delivered an informative session on “Periomedicine, Advances in Dentistry and Conscious Sedation”. He explained the significance of conscious sedation in Peadiatric Dentistry. He said that it has become boon especially for the children who are scared of dental treatments, patients with special needs, medically compromised patients, etc. He laid special focus in recent advances like Surgical Dental Implants and Lasers. He explained the significance of immediate tooth implants where the patients can have lost tooth replaced very fast.
Dr. Rajini, Specialist Gyneacologist delivered the vote of thanks. The session was concluded by presenting the memento to the speakers by Dr. V.T. Vinod, Managing Director and Dr. Shafeek Muhammad, CEO as token of appreciation.
